server hardisk space reduce

we have a member server which running on RAID 5, 1 month ago, we created few
big files (20GB)for some testing purpose on E:\ drive and deleted after the
testing.

last fee days , we noticed the e;\drive space keep reduce.

the total e:\space is 210 GB, we checked the files space used is 110GB, so
the available space should be 100GB , but now the system shows the available
space is 60GB, so 40GB space is missing, can we do the defragment of the
e:\drive which run on RAID 5 ? Or bug or patched need to apply.

How did you create the files? With a script? If so, is the script still
running?

Try the following software to inventory all files, size, locations, etc.

JAM Software - TreeSize Professional - Hard Disk Space Manager ...
Visually track down disk usage and see the size of all folders including ...
Additionally, it is possible to filter the file system tree on the left to a
....

Defragging does NOT free up any disk space. It only joins the various file
fragments to form a more or less contiguous block.

Yes you can defrag your drives, but it won't help, as Pegasus said. It's not
to delete files.

Use that TreeView app to find and delete the files. If the files are still
being created, and the application is no longer creating them, then you have
to find out why they keep getting created.
