Server 2008 Enterprise - Windows Server Backup

Greetings,

We ran a backup and stored it on a separate partition.

A directory was created on the partition called:
"WindowsImageBackup"
This directory contains the files of the backup.

When we attempt to restore, the restoration wizard indicates it cannot find
a backup on the system.

Thus alternatively we indicate that the backup is from another system and it
asks what hard-drive the backup is on and we indicate the appropriate
partition; it indicates a backup cannot be found.

There does not appear to be any options via the recovery wizard to specify
the exact location of a recovery file or catalog.

We are administering our server remotely from ServerBeach, our software via
MS BizSpark.

We are challenged to find a viable backup that functions equivalently to the
backup features available to us in 2003 Server.

What would you recommend we do to create a viable backup that can be
recovered remotely? Obviously we cannot boot from the installation disk to
initiate a recovery.

Our existing backup is NOT actually needed at this time, but presently we
can't get to it or use it in the event of failure.

IT DOES NOT MAKE GOOD BUSINESS SENSE FOR US TO CONTINUE WITHOUT BACKUP
CAPABILITY FROM MICROSOFT. NOR WOULD IT BE SENSIBLE FOR ANY BUSINESS
OPERATING SERVERS REMOTELY TO MIGRATE TO WINDOWS SERVER 2008 IF IT IS PROVEN
THAT VIABLE REMOTE BACKUP DOES NOT EXIST.

What we NEED is a viable backup solution that will offer AT LEAST the same
functionality that was available in NT-2003 server.
