Server 2008 CAL with Server 2008 R2?

  2. It completely throw me, I'm in the process of setting up 3 new servers and
    we had gone to our supplier to get Server 2008 Ent under the Open Licence
    agreement, I received an email yesterday with the activation details and
    everything was listed as Server 2008 R2. Which could have been a problem as
    we currently have Server 2008 CAL's, therefore I was expecting to be stung
    with having to replace them with 2008 R2 CAL's.

    Such a pleasant surprise.
