Server 2003 and 2008 maximum volume size

    Hello,
I have a 5 TB and a 1 TB volume available via ISCSI. The 1 TB volume
shows up under Disk Management and I have no problems there. However,
the 5 TB volume does NOT show up under Disk Management. The ISCSI
initiator says I'm connected. My own observations/testing and googling
leads me to believe the issue is the size of the volume.

What is the largest volume that 2003 will recognize?
What is the largest volume that 2008 will recognize?

Through googling, it seems the answer is 2 TB. However, the MBR is
always mentioned as the limiting factor. That does not seem right if
I'm not trying to boot from this volume (i'm not). So, if 2 TB is the
    limit, why?

    Thanks!

  2. Hello Uno,
To use more than 2 gig the disk needs to be converted to a GPT disk
    See the following links.
