    Good job, Bill.
It sounds as if you have it all under control now.

Still deleting, Cindy. Just did 4 more today at 8 pm. Seems like the right thing to do. Select them, select "ALL", then Delete Forever. Except they DO seem to return.

I am keeping a Spam log. What does it mean when I hover the cursor over a star and it says "not starred"? What does starred mean and should I try to mark it in any way? It is following the check box in front of the spam message. Should I try checking or clicking the star after the checkbox or only check the box to delete?
I went back and the spam was still there although I had deleted it. I clicked the stars and it made them turn orange. I do not know what they mean. I will look again. I looked and after I removed the color by clicking again they did not return. So I left it that way. I guess if I di not click the star they will go away when I click "delete forever".

Do NOT star your email unless it's important.

Thank you very much, Cindy. Imust have missed this. Good thing I did not star them and never have. I seem to be getting only a few now as like before. Never used to do anything but delete them. And there were never very many.

3 SPAM's at 6 pm. Deleted them all forever. A few looked familiar as if I got them before. One was a free Trump flag. Another is a threatening to close for weeks account that I never had to begin with, and has threatened to close for a long time now.

No, I never open or respond to any. Just check the box and click delete forever. I do not think it wise to respond in any way to something like this. And many times, I get the same ones over and over. Never did so much "defensive computing" before.

    Ok, good.
You should never open already identified spam.

I see Gmail has changed its format. The inbox now takes up the entire screen and I have to scroll all the way to the bottom to see it all. Maybe I will stop showing more than one instead of 0-50?

Spams have greatly decreased - only got one a day for the past few days. The SIRIUS account I never had keeps on threatening to close. I just keep deleting all forever. How many emails do people usually show in their inbox. Mine was suddenly showing 50 and I found I could change it to 10. MUCH BETTER!

I rarely see spam in my inbox.
It mostly just lands in my junk mailbox and that's where it belongs.

I do not know how or why I was getting so much spam all of a sudden-and the same ones over and over. I used t only grt a few once in awhile and I never opened or responded or tried to report but only deleted. Now thet I am just deleting again they are fewer. I do not even know how I happen to have a Spam folder which I understand is where it should go anyway. Thank heaven it has become fewer again. What is a junk mailbox? I do not recall seeing one of these.

In Gmail, it is called spam.
I have Hotmail and Yahoo and it is called junk mail.
