I recently posted a problem with my rgb cable with a fuzzy screen and i fixed it but now my text has a "ghost" problem. It's like a light behind the text, which makes it hard to read.
It only appears with "regular" text, like if i'm reading a blog. Other text, like items on this site like "TOPIC" "MANAGE TOPIC POLL" have this problem also, but just not as obvious.

I'm wondering if i could fix it by using the buttons on the monitor - that is, if i knew what i was doing. I think i need a "monitor screen buttons for dummies" book. How do i learn how to use them? There is really nothing in my "help" icon that shows instructions, and i lost my monitor instruction book years ago. The monitor itself is a Samsung, and it's at least ten years old or older. I realize that could also be the problem.

Is there a site that gives instructions? The Samsung site maybe?

I'll be 67 next month, so maybe i need new glasses.

I would update your Graphics Card Drivers first.

An RGB signal into a component input might not work and may have to use a transcoder to convert RGBHV to Component, or upgrade your graphics card maybe if i have read your post correctly?

I  once had a similar problem and I unplugged the monitor, power lead as well, and plugged it back in again.

This made the text much better.

    Wasn't the same brand,however worth a try. :)

I tried unplugging and plugging back, and i upgraded my driver - neither helped. The problem even occurs in my word processing software. well my computer hasn't been into the shop for an overhaul in about three years, so maybe it's due.

thanks everyone, i may need professional help on this one. I do appreciate one thing - i realized i didn't have to use the screen buttons - just pull up the intel driver in my control panel.

When my company started using mainframe pc's in the mid-eighties i took computer courses, and again with another company in the late nineties. none of this kind of stuff was ever covered.
of course, i didn't need it then - but i sure need it now!

There is normally an auto adjust button on the monitor, if you still find it far too bright, which is producing a glare effect on the text them you need to delve into the menu button of the monitor
