Scammers Add Twitter Users to Lists to Draw Their Attention to Malicious Websites
Experts have recently uncovered a new method used by scammers and cybercriminals to attract the attention of unsuspecting Twitter customers: adding them to lists.
Trend Micro researchers have uncovered several accounts that add users to lists in an effort to lure them to websites promoting Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp account hack tools, and iPhone 5s contests.

For instance, the Twitter hacking app is advertised something like this: “You always wanted to get access to the Twitter account of your friends and relatives. But did you ever thought of getting access for the celebrities’ twitter accounts also?”

Of course, the hack tools are bogus, and no one ever wins iPhones no matter how many surveys they complete.

In case you see users adding you to suspicious-looking lists on Twitter, ignore them. Also, you can check out the account and if it looks like the work of a scammer, report it to Twitter.
