Hello Steve and Welcome to Computer Help Forums.

Has your machine been running normally or have you noticed anything out of the ordinary?

    Hi Steve,

If you do a Google search on sbwecxtnik.exe, you only get one hit .... Your thread here at CHF.
This is not a good sign.
If it's been around for awhile there would have been a few hits to display.
My reckoning is that this is a randomly name file.... which means that it shouldn't be on the system at all.
Malware sometimes uses this random naming technique to hide itself from Anti Virus/Anti Malware programs.

If you want help with this, just follow the instructions in the link below and one of the security team will help you.

thx for the help, when i look within the performance monitor I see it linked to google chrome, and its writing to multiple files within a google folder, which just may be a way to fool people that its nothing to worry about. since im seeing performance issues and ive had the machine for 2 years and have installed some software that I no longer need, I just may do a factory restore and start fresh

I really don't want to mess with Starbuck's thread, but I've seen something very similar just yesterday.

If you look in msconfig under Startup items, under the Command column, see if there's something that looks like : regscr32.exe/s. If it's there, uncheck the box to the left of it and restart your computer.

That would probably stop it from running, but we need to remove whatever caused this as well.
Stopping it from running may only do half the job.

That would clear it for sure.... if you really want to go that route.

Again restoring Windows seems a bit extreme unless you have other reasons for doing so not yet mentioned I would let Starbuck handle this issue for you in the Malware Forum.
