RUN AS BATCH JOB

Discussion in 'Windows Home Server' started by DD, Apr 6, 2009.

    DD Guest

We intend to create a seperate id to run the schedule job, previously using
administrator id, under the user right assignment, we include the new id in
logon as batch job, but still can't run the schedule job, what else need to
    permit ?
the new id is normal domain user group.

  2. Hello DD,

Think additional settings depend on the task itself. Check the scheduled
task logfile. There it should state the error/missing permission.

    Best regards

  3. Hello DD,

Since you were using Administrator before, make sure new ID have the
necessary priviledges/rights to run the batch job and also set password to
    never expires

  6. Hello DD,

You should be able to determine that since you are the systems admin. You
may wnat to give full access to all resources that is required for the batch
    job

Can you tell me what are the rights need to be permitted for the new user id
in order to run the schedule job,
So far I have added the new user id to the can run as batch job group and
permission on the cmd.exe file. I can run the batch file manually , but if I
put in under the schedule job using the new created id, I couldn't run. the
status is 0x1 , nothing else in the log.

  9. Hello DD,

As said before, that depends on the task to run. Diffferent applications
    have different settings necessary.

For example, to backup the security log from the event viewer you need for
example, Backup files and directories, Genereate security audits, Log on
as a batch job and Managae auditing and security log.

So what do you like to run?

    Best regards

The permissions needed depend on what the task does. Since you haven't told
us what the task does no one can advise you on what permissions are needed.
You haven't even told us what OS the server is running. Here's a link that
    may help you with troubleshooting.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308558

You can also monitor the task while you run it as administrator to see what
files and registry settings it touches then give the account permissions to
    these items.

  13. Hello DD,

Does the account have permission to write on the share of the DC?

Also test with the user rights assignment for backup files and folders on
    the member server.

Additional it can be that the account needs the permission to logon locally.

    Best regards
