It is with the deep sorrow that it has fallen to me to advise our members of the passing of Robin Walsh after a prolonged battle with cancer. Robin is known to us as Rowal5555 and has been a wonderful member over the years.

What some of you may not know is that DSTM’s recent trip to New Zealand was to say goodbye to his dear friend. I know that Mara too was very close to Robin. It is truly a sad day.

It was with great sadness that I received the news this morning Of Robs passing. Although I had not known Rob for very long, I did count him as a cyber friend. My sincere condolences go to his friends and family in New Zealand, and also my thoughts are with both Dougie and Mara who as Barry has stated were dear friends of Rob.

It has been said before...But the world really is a poorer place now we have lost a man that was courageous right up to his passing, and was a true gentleman...

I also was saddened to see the header at the top, and though hardly knew him myself as well as others here, it is still a great loss.

It is sad indeed. Cancer is no respecter of character. It always seems to be the good guys who are taken.
    RIP Robin.

Thanks everyone for your kind posts. It's a sad day the passing of my mate, Rob.
I didn't say at the time why I was going to New Zealand.
Saying Goodbye for the last time was indeed very hard for both of us.

In the years I knew Rob he never once had a bad word to say about anybody.
He was a true Gentleman who only wanted to help others.
Rob certainly enriched my life through his friendship.

When this photo was taken of Rob his body was ravaged with cancer,
however it shows how happy he was that I made the trip to be with him.
It was his dying wish that we say Goodbye to each other in person.
Rob had many friends and we will all miss him.

    Rest in Peace, mate.

A man is blessed by the friends he has made and, as sad as this day is, Rob was blessed with a wonderful friend. As am I.

I knew Rob from a few other forums as well as here at CHF. He was a true gentleman in all respects.
He never uttered an unkind word towards anyone. He will truly be missed. I'm so thankful that Dougie
was able to make the trip to New Zealand before Rob passed. I know it meant so much to both Rob and
    Dougie.

[IMG] Rest in Peace Rob. [IMG]
