Not sure if this is the right section to post this, but:

We hooked up a rgb cable to connect our pc with our tv so we could get streaming. The cable has a splitter that allows this; however, when we did the picture was out of focus - a fuzzy screen. I checked hte connections and worked the buttons on the monitor to no avail. Defective cable, or something else?

    Thanks,

I am not sure what the real issue is. You say you played with the monitor buttons but I was under the impression that it was the TV picture that was giving you problems. You need to set the TV as a second monitor and set the proper resolution for the TV in windows. Have you done that?

sorry i wasn't clear (I'm often not too clear this early in the morning). It's the computer monitor screen that is fuzzy and it translates to the tv screen also.
The tv is a brand new Vizio and it has rgb ports so operates as a second monitor.

ASUS - are there any others worth buying?

So you need to find the external button on your TV remote (normally looks like an arrow going into a screen)
and find the right channel (normally PC)

when you output to a TV you shouldnt see anything on the PC/laptop monitor unless its set up as a dual screen (which will mirror or run side by side)

when you say the cable has a splitter to allow this, there are so many varieties of cables for connecting devices to TVs it could literally be one of hundreds
