Replacing A Internal Burner

    I think my burners are wearing out. I have 2 new internal drives that I put in my old PC, but it crashed before I ever got to try them out. How hard is changing them out, I looked all over I dont see any software that goes with the 2 burners. I know a little about whats inside a PC, like the pins and molex connectors.

    By burners I assume you are referring to the DVD/CD Drive (optical.) this is really a very simple change to make. Just make sure that the new ones are consistent with the old. (Sata/IDE?)

    Just remove the set screws holding the old one in place and reseat the new. The cabling will be the same as long as you got the same type of drive.

    Optical drives either come as IDE or SATA, and that just means that they use different connectors to transfer data, you need to make sure that you have the cables or the cable adapters needed and without taking the side off the tower then you wont know - or give us a model number :)

    Another thing worth mentioning is on the back of the CD/DVD drive you will have a set of jumpers similar to the picture below.
    Set the jumper on your new drive so it matches your old drive. i.e. If its set to CS then set your new drive the same.

    Thats only applicable on IDE drives, which is why a picture/model number would help :)
