% Registry Quota In Use Performance Monitor counter = 100% - server 2003 SP2 Enterprise 32 bit

Discussion in 'Windows Home Server' started by Bruce Sanderson, Aug 31, 2009.

  1. I first posted this in May, but can't find that post in these newsgroups
    anymore.

We've since found a solution, which is to set the registry entry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\RegistrySizeLimit

    to hex ffffffff.

Since making the above setting on all the Terminal Servers, we have not had
    this problem again.

    The symptoms were:
    1. when logging on to a Terminal Server, the user gets told that their
Roaming Profile can not be loaded
    2. Performance Monitor shows that the % Registry Quota counter is at 100%
    3. Application Event Log entries:
    Source: Userenv
    Event ID: 1505
Description: Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you
on with the default profile for the system.
Detail - Insufficient system resources exist to complete the
    requested service.

It's perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
