RDP over SSL with TSWEB - TS2003

I direct my users to .

I have a valid certificate installed in IIS and can secure the website.

That same certificate I have applied to the RDP listener in TSCC.

When I change the security level from "RDP security layer" to "SSL", I get
the following message when trying to connect:

The remote computer requires authentication be enabled to connect.

Remote Computer: Remote.MyCompany.com

The connection cannot proceed because authentication is not enabled.

When I google this message, it leads me to "enable authentication on the
server", but I haven't found any article that actually tells you how to
enable authentication.

I don't want my users to have to authenticate just to land at


And

When I have the security level at SSL, I CAN connect via Remote Desktop
Connection and see that it is secure using the certificate.

It's fails when I'm coming from TSWeb even though the website is secure....

Hi,

You need to edit the TSWeb default.htm file so that
authentication is enabled.

Please insert the following line in the BtnConnect sub,
before MsRdpClient.Connect:

MsRdpClient.AdvancedSettings.AuthenticationLevel = "1"

For reference:

0 = No Authentication
1 = Require Authentication, if it fails do not connect
2 = Attempt Authentication, if it fails prompt user first
