RDC and dynamic IPs (INTERNAL network)

    All,
I have remote desktop connection working on my XP Pro network. I'm
able to access my server, but have to use the IP address, not the
computer name. I'd like to use the computer name instead for the
obvious advantage of not having to look up the server's IP every time
the machine boots. I seem to remember using the computer name up
until a year or a year and a half ago, then suddenly I couldn't
anymore. Today, finally, after losing internet access due to a storm,
I finally got my butt in gear and tried to figure out why this is
happening. Searching Google, I don't see this being a problem for
others. Anyone have any ideas as to why I'm having this problem?

    TIA

Can you provide more info, like how are your systems getting their IP
address? I'm guessing this is a workgroup and not a domain right?

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

The machines dynamically are assigned IPs via the router. I'm using a
workgroup that all the machines are in. One other thing I failed to
mention, I AM able to go to "Run..." and type in \\servermachine\c$
and get a directory for the same machine I CAN'T use the machine name
    to access using RDC
