    Hey guys,
I have a computer about a year old. Its a custom build and I am looking to upgrade the graphics card right now.
I have a Nvidia 8600GT and I definitely know it isn't doing the job. I am looking at the 5000 series by ATI I saw a ATI5870 for sale on craigslist for $375. Think its worth it?

I am a big gamer. So I would like your input on a graphics card. I'm probably expecting my budget to be $500, but not all the money goes toward for my graphics. I might want a new cpu as well.

    Specs:
    Rosewill Case
Nvidia 8600GT Graphics Card 512MB onboard drive, Own fan system.
    Gigabyte AMD Athlon 64 S-Series
    Thermaltake Fan
Western Digital 750GB Internal Heard Drive
    4 GB Corsair Memory Sticks
    Thermaltake 700W Power Supply
    ASUS Motherboard
    Windows Vista 64Bit Home Premium

    Other Gaming Info:
    G5 Logitech Mouse 2000dpi
    Logitech Keyboard
    Fatality Headset
Rocketfish Mousepad Control and Speed Sides

With the holiday weekend both here and the UK I can't guarantee exactly when you will get a good reply but we have some super hardware specialists and Dalo Harkin comes to mind when it comes to gaming rigs. So this one may need a little patience.

    Hard Drive:
    Samsung - all the way
    Graphics Card:
    XFX 260GTX rev 1

If you can hang fire for a few weeks Nvidia are going to be dropping some prices :hush: (Match always wonders how I know these things :lglaf: )

5870s in the UK cost in the region of £280-£330.

Also bear in mind that the biggest factor to consider when buying a new card is the monitor size
