This is for all you fine members who love motorcycles like I do, such as DSTM and PSEFrank. We are lucky, here in Canada, because we seem to have a lot of rare antique motorcycles. This bike is very rare and I have only seen one at a motorcycle rally several years ago. I belong to a club called the CVMG, Canadian Vintage Motorcyle Group and we are devoted to the restoration and preservation of classic vintage motorcylces. In order for a bike to qualify, it has to be at least 40 years old and or older. This "sloper" is a rare beast indeed.

I love the Motorcycles of yesteryear.
    That is a fine example.
    Thanks for posting, Rich.

Thanks Dougie, I am glad you enjoyed it. Something else I saw, years ago, was a Brough Superior another rare English bike. It would be worth it's weight in gold if a person here had one. I know a guy here that had 2 of them, one is being loaned to a museum not far from here and he rides the other one. I tried to buy one from him, but he wouldn't part with either. :(

Here is another bike, you may enjoy. A friend of mine in our club has one just like this, only a different colour. 1978 Ducati 900, beautiful.

The BSA reminds me of my first bike, A 67 Triumph Bonneville. I bought it used in 71. I've had Harleys ever since.

Sorry Bob that first bike is a Panther not a BSA and the English call it a sloper, here is a shot of my 1966 Triumph Bonny.

PS: This Panther does look a bit like a BSA, only difference is, the Panther is a one cylinder, probably a 500 cc, on almost a 45 degree angle, hence the nickname sloper. One of my first bikes was a BSA lightening, great bike, wish I still had it. ;)

Thanks Dougie, it took me almost 10 months to restore the Bonny as it was a junk heap, when I bought it. It came with the rolling chassis, half the engine was missing and loads of other parts. I posted the Ducati for you, beautiful bike almost like a cafe racer. Jimmy, my mate from the club, has one just like this. His is red and it looks and sounds great. ;)

    My first was a '77 Honda in-line 4, 550cc. honda-550-4-1977.jpg

I put on a one less tooth sprocket for a bit more torque and wider handle bars for a little more leverage. It didn't do too bad.

I've had bigger and 'badder' bikes including an '85 1100 Honda Magna and an '87 1100 Honda Shadow but that little 550 was a LOT of fun. The Magna was the fastest, a total beast, but the Shadow was probably my favorite. Not that the Shadow wasn't fast, 0-60 in 2.3 seconds is not slow, but there is no way the 45 degree v-twin on the Shadow could match the 90 degree v-4 on the Magna.

Ditto Bob, I also enjoyed that and I bet PSEFrank will enjoy this as well. Here is a shot of a 2013 Triumph Bonneville.

Beautiful Dougie, nice bike as well. Triumph have come a long way since the company reformed in the early 90's. Some consortium in the UK bought the rights to use the name and started all over again. I went to the international bike show, in both Detroit Michigan and Toronto when they introduced their new line of bikes. They came out with the newer sports bikes and some classic ones as well. A friend of mine has a newer Trident, 900 cc triple and it is awesome. :fshsml:
