It will usually show something at the end of the scan along the lines of, windows has checked the filesystem and found no problems, or has found problems and attempted repairs.

Okay and when the scan is done, will the computer then start up normally again?

Yes the computer should start up again after the scan.

Okay I've just finished the Chkdsk, but where can I see if it has fixed anything?

I still get the lag spikes, so I'll try the thing you said with the RAM

    Hi Hyper,

Sorry for the late reply to this, Easter and all got in the way for last few days.

Anyway if Chkdsk didn't flag anything up when you started the computer up after the scan then it likely found nothing wrong, how did your RAM testing go if you got to it?

As WoodyBlade stated, the scan, more than likely didn't find any problems but in case you wish
to view the results or for future reference follow these instructions........
Start Windows PowerShell as Administrator by typing into the search box PowerShell.
Right click powershell and select Run as Administrator. Copy and paste the following
at the command prompt without the parentheses. See attachment below for screenshot.

I've been gone for some days, so I havn't really had the time for testing the RAM. I'll post as soon as I've tested it.

On the Motherboard there is 2 blue slots, and 2 black slots. So don't I need to have a set (1 black and 1 blue) when I test the RAMs?

No. If you have two ram sticks they should be in the same color slots. They are normally numbered on the motherboard. If you have two now and they are not as I said that may be your problem.

Okay I just took the black RAM set out of the motherboard, so that means, that right now I'm only useing the blue RAM set and running with 8 GB RAM.

    Further to BeeCeeBee's advice

If you are using SDRAM or single-channel DDR-SDRAM, then it usually doesn't matter which modules go into which slots.
Start with the slot closest to the CPU regardless of color.

If you are using DDR memory in dual-channel configuration, however, then you must fill the first slot of each of the two ram banks with an identical stick of ram; and you must do the same with the second slots of each bank, if you are using them. The ram sticks in each bank must be identical to each other.

You get less memory issues if you place the ram sticks in the order above.

All right guys, I've decided that I'll send my whole motherboard with the CPU and RAM attached to it, to the ones I bought it from. They have a place where they fix problems like mine. I'll keep you guys posted, so don't close this thread.

Please do. Sometimes we are just limited to pointing you in the right direction. When it comes to hardware issues we obviously can't open the machine and help with any hands on requirements. In those cases we remain interested in the eventual solution, do please keep us informed. Best of luck!!

    Hey folks!

I have wonderful news! The company didn't find anything on the MB, nor the CPU, nor the RAMs. Then I thought: "It can't be the Hardware then, it must be a program." Because It started happening on my other computer too. So I reinstalled win7, and spent 7 hours on tracking down the program, that made my CPU go from 2% usage to 100%. I found out that it was McAfee, an .exe named 'McSvHost.exe' It randomly went from 0% in CPU usage, to 80%+ usage. So I had to change some settings in McAfee, and it simply fixed it. I did some research on the .exe, and McAfee is aware of this problem, so they should have a fix for it soon. :)

Next time someone has this problem like me, ask them if they have McAfee. ;-) (If you wish to get the solution in details, please let me know)

I want to thank you guys for your help, and your patience! :)

    Cheers, Hyper.

Good to hear, you did mention a process/software earlier in the thread but we didn't follow that further at the time, shame we didn't as we'd have the problem solved a while ago.

You could post a link or instructions as to what settings you changed, it will help those who may come across this thread looking for solution/s.

Btw, my temperatures are all around 40 degree (35 to 45 C) at idle, your motherboard seems quite high

Sorry for that, didn't meant to do that. You're talking about the post about my temperatures? or both of them?
