    Hi All,

Anybody has any experience with the Maxtor Central Axis HD? found at:
    http://www.maxtor.com/en/hard-drive-backup/external-drives/maxtor-central-axis-business-edition.html
    which is 2TB Network HD.

I am using it under a GigaBit router and getting the most 15 mb per second
when coping files from different computers into this hd. Otherwise when
coping files between computer it could be 110 MB per second.

It could be a defective HD, just wondering if anybody noticed theses
    problems in the above HD.

    Thanks,

    Eric

It is fairly common for (physically) smaller / lower end NAS appliances
to have throughput that leaves much to be desired. In short the
processors / sub-system that is put in them simply can not handle the data.

This is one of the many reasons that regular servers are here to stay.
