Hi i need help with my printserver. I have deployed a printserver (2003 R2),
added drivers and printers, listed the printers in AD etc. Everything works
fine, but when i add printers on the clients (WinXP) they appear twice, as
local and network printer. Anyone know why? Erik

What exactly do you mean? What are the exact symptoms you're seeing?
You shouldn't need to add printers on the XP clients manually, you
know....see what happens if you don't.

On the client i use the add printer wizard: Add printer-Network
printer-Search for a printer-Type the name of the printer and add it. Then
the printer appear twice, one with a network symbol saying "On
printservername", and one with the symbol of a local printer saying "From
    printservername".

This is the way our clients always have added printers. We have about 70
printers in 22 locations so the users must have the abbelity to add the
printers they need to connect to.

RE: Printers appear as local and network printer-SOLVED

My bad! In my hurry in deploying and testing the printserver and clients, my
RDP connection to the client had printer in local resource checked.
