So i'm a total greenhorn at computer hardware, so i opted to buy a computer already built, but with me choosing the components.

I'm mostly buying it as i only have a laptop and want something with room to expand through the years and maybe i can configure it in the future.
I'm also a runescaper, if anyone knows that game(it's like a wow or maplestory kinda thing) so im also building it to run that on full screen max graphics settings, and be ahead of any graphics updates they propose for it in the coming years. It's only java based so doesnt take much to start.

Finally, i dont have much money to work with(not that i want a comp that runs crysis anyway)

Currently I have a $700 tower in my saved pre built's, but i dont know how well it'll run put together, so any advice is greatly appreciated. :)

Case: Xion Predator 970 Gaming Series Mid Tower Case w/ 2 External Removable HDD Bays
    CPU: AMD FX-4100 3.60 GHz Quad-Core AM3+ CPU 4MB L2 Cache & Turbo Core Technology
(This a a november freebee) Cooling Fan: Asetek 510LC Liquid Cooling System 120MM Radiator & Fan (Enhanced Cooling Performance + Extreme Silent at 20dBA) (Single Standard 120MM Fan)
    Motherboard: * [CrossFireX] GigaByte GA-970A-D3 AMD 970 Socket AM3+ ATX Mainboard w/ On/Off Charge, 7.1 Audio, GbLAN, USB3.0, SATA-III RAID, 2 Gen2 PCIe X16, 3 PCIe X1 & 2 PCI
Memory: 4GB (2GBx2) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Module (Corsair XMS Gaming Memory with Heat Spreader)
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 16X PCIe Video Card
Power Supply: 600 Watts - XtremeGear Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready
    Hard Drive: 1TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 32MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Drive)
Optical Drive: 24X Double Layer Dual Format DVD+-R/+-RW + CD-R/RW Drive (BLACK COLOR)
Sound: HIGH DEFINITION ON-BOARD 7.1 AUDIO

Also will buy windowshome premium 64 bit OS, and a wirleess card.

Am i missing anything to make the comp tick, or anything i can change to make it run more smooth, while staying around the same price range?

Anything is appreciated! Honestly the first time ive even heard of half these parts and i've been searching the difference between everything for the past week.

Hello Elk33dp and Welcome to CHF,

I would purchase a better PSU, Xtremegear is total junk. Corsair, Seasonic and Thermaltake
are all decent power supply units. Everything else looks good....

Just researched and it appears that xtremgear is bad!
I thought the one 50 dollars less than the other would be to good to be true!
I'll take a look at the others and choose. They have a standard 500w one but the graphics card i choose drove up the recommended power to 600, so therefore need a different one.

Edit: also would the 1T hdd be overkill? I've been getting mixed answers over that.

Without doing any maths or research (7:45 have to do the school run in 30 mins) 4 X Core processor, Half Decent Graphics, Room for Expansion = 800W PSU Minimum

Is 1TB overkill? this Day and age not really, but my personal preference for Value is to go for 2 X 500/600Gig Drives, Over two systems I have 4, on 2 of those I have back up images of all 4 Drives, if 1 drive (1TB) fails you have no drive no back up, something to think about?

also with 2TB of HDD storage I'm starting to run low on spare space and when Finances and Wife allow I intend to build a new system with the drives from the old system being kept and another 2 drives being added (+1TB/1.2TB)

    Hi,

You could check out your chosen PSU here:
    http://support.amd.c...es/listing.aspx

Click on "Details" to see if it is compatible with your Video Card.

If it doesn't list your card this doesn't necessarily mean that it will not function properly.

Your PSU will need to supply 1 PCIe 6 pin connector or if your card is the CE version - 2 x 6 pin connectors.
    See here
