These Somali Pirates, need to be taught a lesson.IMO.
Why they are not blown out of the water, for coming too close to a Freighter, amazes me.Let them swim back to shore.
There should be a distance limit,in which these Pirates can come to a Freighter,on the High Seas.
    They are treated too leniently.
Anyone have any thoughts, on a way to stop these Thugs?

No ideas about thug-stoppage, unfortunately (at least no thoughts that would be legal if implemented :)).

But we watched a hour long program on this problem just the other night - and were truly amazed to know that most of these poops are simply released. Without their weapons but released.

Apparently it's still rare for Countries to prosecute - and I really do wonder why.

When a boat load of thugs (which are apparently thought as wonderful brave heroes by many) are shooting at a ship and it's crew - it's amazing the restraint the crew shows by shooting at the nasty's boats rather than their bodies.

Was it really that long ago when pirates were hung or shot ... but come to think about it, there was a time when stealing a man's horse meant instant hanging... and yet, although our cars have now become our 'horses', we no longer hang people for car theft. Hmm, I'm rambling here - but how civilized we have become that pirates can just walk away to do it again another day.

It is trully shocking and their motivations and rewards make it understandable, the BBC aired a series

Ross Kemp in search of Pirates

that revealed some trully shocking facts, and explained how powerless the powers that be are to cope with the problem,

if you can find it Download it and watch it, the problem is bigger than what you really would expect it to be.

The problem is so large that many of the men sailing on the ships may begin to ask for 'danger pay' - especially since the powers really do some to be toothless in these instances.

Surely all the Countries that have ships and cargo at risk could band together and create some sort of 'universal piracy law' - one with lots of teeth.
