Pc very very slow

I don't know if the problem is with my pc or my service provider Smart. It takes about 15 minutes for me to pull up CHF. It takes about five minutes to pull up Win 7 on CHF and then about three minutes to "start a new thread". I use Smart Bro Wifi for home use open security. It is the same with every site I try to pull up.

Hello again Dave, we already know your service is a fairly poor and slow one from previous threads, I would be looking at your internet speeds first and if very low numbers get in touch with your service provider.
What is performance like internally, such as opening and running an installed program?

Yes the test would be how programs open in general on the pc say word processor or any other prgrams you use ie Quicken or other financial software.
Also can you remind us your cpu, memory and other hardware if you would please.

 

All other programs work fine. I cannot do the speed test as I am too slow to even do the initial server test by ping. So, I guess that answers my question, I'm at the mercy of the provider. I think during the holiday season the priority is given to phone and txt traffic. Smart makes it difficult to contact them. I will attach the system info you asked for but no need to respond as its obvious the provider is the problem thanks.

My guess is ISP. I've had a similar issue at the office where my Mac was running extremely slow due to a large amount of wireless connections. Whenever I disconnected, it would return back to its normal speed.

 

I think there is more to this. While I can function any of my offline computer functions just fine, there are sites I can no longer visit. For instances: VPN's are no longer available to me like Zero Tunnel, Proxy Button, 24 Tunnel and etc. Yet, every other site on the net is available to me. If it were my ISP only, then I would not be ale to quickly pull up sites like Facebook, Yahoo Mail, Juno Mail, CNN, CHF and etc. So, whenever I try to access a VPN I get the error that the server is not available. Something is blocking me from VPN's.

 

Things have changed a bit since my first inquiry. Since the holidays are over I am able to contact most sites. So, this leads me to believe that my ISP changes the priority for spectrum from digital to phone and txt during that time. This is something I have always suspected which only complicates my view of what could be going on here. Still, I cannot contact my proxy sites like SSL Proxy, Open Surf, Zero Tunnel and Proxy Button at all even if I wait hours. Someone, like Google, is blocking my ability these sites?

If you believe someone is blocking your proxys or whatever it is, it is more than likely to be your ISP. In the past I have had issues with my ISP blocking some hosts so I added a VPN and it works fine for me. Maybe you can give it a try? If you want to let me know and I'll type directions
