PC not recognizing windows on my SSD

    Please bear in mind that the SSD must be in the computer that this post is about. You cannot re-install Win7 on the SSD on a different PC and expect it to work.

    Ah, I think I am beginning to see the problem you are having at the moment. To explain a bit more from the previous good points from Bill, and why, if the version of windows was installed on another PC, and then the SSD installed on a different computer, it will refuse to boot as it will see a different environment. Windows can only ever be installed to a hard drive of any sort, SSD or otherwise, while in the computer it is intended to run on. if that computer no longer has a disk drive, and you cannot borrow one from somewhere else, you may do it from a USB flash drive.
    Let us know if you wish to do it from a flash drive though, as there are things to do first.

    I have now found this very good explanation of how to install Windows 7 using a USB flash drive if you wish to do it this way. You will need a drive of at least 4GB and with nothing on it, also once the drive is formatted by the method here, you will need to set the BIOS to boot from a USB device.
