Pc Games Requirements

    I wonder if anyone would be so kind as to help me out. I'm looking at buying Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 for my PC, but am at a total loss when it comes to requirements and whether or not my pc would run it okay. One of the reviews for the game (on amazon) says, "DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU HAVE HAVE ANYTHING LESS THAN A GOOD GRAPHICS CARD AND A DECENT COMPUTER. Trust me." The review was written in 2006 so I'm guessing even high street PCs have come on a bit since then, but I'm still unsure.

    The trouble is, even armed with the game's requirements, I wouldn't know if my PC was up to scratch as I don't know how to find out what my PC is capable of. It's a Dell that was given to me by my nephew when his business went pop, but other than that I can't tell you anything.

    If someone could just tell me what info they need and how I go about getting that info (in simple terms), and hopefully eventually tell me if my PC would run Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 okay, I'd be very grateful.

    I don't know what your PC specs are but the page below seems to be pretty comprehensive. It does not appear to require any high end specs by today's standards but, again, we would need to know what your specs are to say for sure.

    Also please note the comments about the codec that is required which, if I understand correctly, is part of Media Player 10. So, if you have an earlier version of WMP you may have to download a more current version.

    Further to what BeeCeeBee has said, the easiest way to find out what your Computer Specs are, is to download a small program called Speccy.

    Speccy will give us the information we need.

    Use the scanner here at System Requirements Lab Can You Run It ?
    Select the name of the game and the scanner will tell you if your
    computer is up to par for that game.

    Thanks very much to you all. I'm about to use the tester that allheart has linked to. That's my kind of tool!! I'll take the other steps recommended if it doesn't answer my question, but for now, thank you.

    [edit] Damn it!! It passed on everything but my graphics card. That is one hell of a useful tool!!
