password recovery

If it is not one thing it's another. I have a program on my computer, that cannot seem to get off my computer, and am not aloud to down load the same program to the computer.

If this sounds weird, it is. I have a disc, deep freeze enterprise (faronics,) it is a program that is simply a restore point on the computer. If I have this program installed, and do not disable it when I make changes to the computer, the computer goes back to original settings. Thus I use this program, so that if I pick up a virus while on the computer, all I need do is reboot computer, back to original settings and virus is gone.

During the set up of my computer while loading in pictures documents and what not. I picked up a virus,, I believe Conduit. Tech at Dell logged on my computer, and finally after 3 or more hours was able to get the virus removed..

When I got control of the computer I tried to reactivate deep freeze program. I could not find the icon for the program when pressing control alt del and f6, the programs meu would not appear. I went to the programs and it was not there.

I inserted the disc to re-install program, but was told that I could not install deep freeze, until I disable the deep freeze program. I cannot find the program to disable. The only place it is listed is under the drive c, why it is there and not listed anywhere else, is baffling.. I am not able to do anything with the program from just looking at the place where it show that is there and using for instance as it states 660 free of 800 yah de yad de.


So to fix problem I went to factory restart, now when I am prompted to enter admins name and password. I can't seem to get beyond this point. The admin name is already listed there all I have to do is put in password. I set this computer up just weeks ago and. have not forgot password, in fact I only mostly just use one, and at the most two. But when I apply, it says one or the other is wrong. With out this I am unable to move on.

Now I have screwed up compute, that I am unable to take back to factory settings because it will not recognize my password information. And I have a program on computer that is there, that is not seen to be there, and a program that can not install, because I have a phantom program that is not there.

Please I am circling the wagons now and need lottsa help.

 

sorry but in addition, where can i go to download a copy of revo uninstaller, safely without running the risk of infection? thanks for your help as always

Now we are on thin ice here as most forums rules do not allow help with passwords for obvious reasons however your question really skirts that so let's try to do that without discussing passwords.
If you found a folder on "c" drive it's because that is where the program is installed to so my suggestion is to click the folder to open it and look for a file that ends in ".exe" which will be the program starter and probably accompanied by a familiar looking icon as well. Go slowly and carefully. My guess is you will also see an uninstaller inside that folder as well but but thats for another moment as your objective is to open thins program first. If you do not see the file endings
in that folder which is possible then you have to do one more thing to see them. God Bless Windows 8 which makes this next step a night mare but go to Control Panel, "Folder Options" and open "Folder Options", "View" tab, then put a checkmark in "show hidden files, folders or drives",uncheck "hide extensions for known file types", and "hide folder merge conflicts" then hit apply and ok and go back to folder for Faronics and click on the ".exe" file to start program.

 

I did not know anything about password rules. I am just trying to access the use of my computer. Have not tried your suggestions yet but i will, and get back, thanks. Is there away around needing a password to reset computer so i can, re-set computer to aide in my problem?

 

We cannot help you circumvent passwords, no pone on a forum can as it is prohibited in our forum rules lets just proceed and we'll see where we get here.

 

I tried the first, got no where. Did see place to delete. Went there did not have success. Did not have the right or permission or something. Second part you refer to windows 8. I am posting in windows 7 section because I have windows 7 not 8

 

If you are having permission issues then use the hidden Administrator account.

Same procedure would be true for Windows 7 actually just follow what I said. Not sure what you mean before that with "delete" and "tried the first one" was that directed to me?

 

I am getting no where with your instructions, this ia not a typical and i figure it is not going to take typical steps to fix.

That did not work either things did not go as they said they would things that were said to appear did not. So i could not follow to the letter

 

This tutorial works. I have used it myself. I'm afraid it's your inability to follow simple instructions.

 

Let's try one more time and DSTM is right, you may need to go to a shop for help here as this is really the simplest procedure. Are you printing out the instructions and going item by item?
1) If you run your cursor over the globe on the far left of the taskbar, and the taskbar is at the very bottom of your screen going all the way across horizontally, it will say "Start"
2) Left click "start" and that opens the "Start Menu".
3) On the right hand side of the start menu start going up until you see "Control Panel" then left click it to open
4) On the top of Control Panel right side you will see the words "view by" and click that open and choose "Large Icons"
5) The icons are set up alphabetically
6) Open "Folder Options"
7) Open "View" tab
8) Put a check in "show hidden files and folders" and you do that by left clicking inside the circle in front of those words
9) Uncheck "Hide empty drives in the computer folder"
10) Uncheck hide extensions for known file types then restart computer.
Now go back to "c" drive and the Faronics folder you found and find the icon for file ending in ".exe" and click it open. There will also be an uninstall in that folder for the program also probably denoted by the file ending "unins.exe"
Don't do anything else....

 

Lets not forget i tried, to tell you guys, i was not capable in this genre. If not specifically in this posting, definitely, in others. I will get back to you guys when i attempt to follow these instructions. Dstm. I believe you when say that this worked for you, and you are right about following simple instructions, but harkening back to my knowledge of computers, this was far from simple to me. When given step by step instructions, i find a lot of the steps , and this is just one example, of the many i find in step by step. You see, most computer instructions you get in computer land, always assume you know the basics but i do not.
One example i mentioned and not exactly at all word perfect, i am told to open up this file and select this from drop down window, now open a command prompt. Now i have no idea what this is or how to open one, then there i am going to google to learn how to do this, then close that up and try to come back to the point i was at before and hope that it is not erased by the time i find the path back to it, if i find it GREAT. I go through a couple of more commands i understand the i hit another instruction, that sends me to google, and sometimes in google, they will mention something that will send me to do a google search of what i read on google, so it is frustrating, before i get to the end of the step by step instruction, i am sure i have made a mistake when at the end the outcome is incorrect.

 

Go to drive c???? I pushed for computer???? On screen. Hard disk drive 2,,,,i have aflask drive with picture s to put on computer after changing out pc's.

I am at others mercy, he told me it was a nasty virus and hard to gett rid of, i guess he is paid by the hour???? When i right click on faronics and push button to open, it tells me to insert disk????

 

First instruction listed. Open command prompt in the administrator mode. I am stymied by this simple step by step, it seems a lot of steps were missed. At least for me!!!

 

Because of this i believe, i am unable to use my password. That i know is right to take my computer back to factory settings. How does one go about. Uncorrupting program files???
