Parental controls doesn't allow for this game to run

Hi, I have Vista Home Premium 64bit, I'm trying to install and run a
BETA game I need to test, all goes fine until I try to run it, I get the
message "Parental controls doesn't allow for this game to run". I have
one account, as admin, no password and I already tried "run as admin"
for the game but still the same. When I go to parental controls it tells
me none are set as I'm an administrator, so no way to turn them on or
off! I don't want another account, I just want one account, I'm the only
user and I want to be able to do eveything with my account.
How can I completely turn parental controls off? Driving me a bit crazy
    this...

    Thanks

Thanks so much Brink, I was really excited and thought this might solve
my problem as it made sense, my parental controls was set to manual, I
changed it to turn off and it doesn't say start up anymore, but I think
it wasn't started in the first place.

You can guess already, it didn't change a thing. And I keep getting
this User Account management saying "you have started something and we
need your ok to proceed" so I click proceed but don't need a password as
I disabled that. If I start the .exe of the game normal it says Parental
controls doesn't allow for this game to start and if I start the .exe as
administrator it gives me first the ok to need to proceed and then again
Parental controls doesn't allow for this game to run.

At whits end, how is it possible this is happening in a new Vista Home
Premium 64 bit I just installed yesterday and haven't been able to do
    much...

At whits end with Vista, they warned me, I had no idea it could be this
complicated... Why not a link to "allow this application to run" and it
shows you what you need to do....

    Anymore ideas, please?

    Patrick,

As a test, create a new administrator account to see if it gives you
this "Parental Controls" message as well. If not, then can copy the
contents of your old user account's "C:\Users\(user-name)" folders into
the corresponding new account's "C:\Users\(user-name)" folders to keep
your settings. After everything checks out ok in the new account, you
can then delete the old one.

Thanks Brink, I did, created a new admin account, switched to that
account, tried to run the game normal and as admin, same message
Parental controls doesn't allow for this game to start...

    Patrick,

I'm afraid that if you are logged into an administrator account, then
I'm not sure why Parental Controls would be active anyway. You might
also try in the 'built-in Administrator'
    ()
    account.

Yes, I don't understand that myself, the administrator should not have
ANY parental controls! Still, the message blocks the game from running,
and I was hoping to keep all in my created admin account...

I must say this is very very bad, NEVER had anything like this, a
patented non violent/etc game that doesn't run due to something nobody
    can repair....

What is this...??? Sorry, very frustrated....

    Patric,

Parental controls woks just to accounts that doesn't have administrative
    privileges.
I think that your software has some problems to work properly in Windows
    Vista.
    But try this:
Right click in *.exe file and go to properties. In properties, select
'Compatibility' tab and in compatibility mode, select 'Execute this program
in compatibility mode' and Select Windows XP SP2 and click Ok. It maight
    solve your problem.

    (Sorry by my english)

No, it turned out the BETA was indeed flawed and a patch needed to be
    supplied.
It ran ok after that, but a strange and incorrect message anyway, so I
still attribute this to Vista, PC was disabled so why put up that
message and not a clear indication of the actual problem, as I was put
on the wrong foot by that and stared to look in the wrong direction.

Anyway, thanks everybody for your help.
