I installed Microsoft Powerpoint 2007 so i can open up PPS attachments and there are a couple of updates for the powerpoint and a whole bunch for Microsoft office 2007. I am just wondering if I need to install all the updates for Microsoft office also? I dont have microsoft office in my computer. Or are they needed also for the powerpoint? Also are powerpoint 2007 or earlier and open office the only free programs to open PPs attachments? Thanks for the input

It seems you answered your own question. :) I do not have every component of office installed but have been accepting updates without any sign of trouble.
