Ok so I want to make a gaming computer I kinda figured out what I need but, then again I don't know everything about computers so here's a list of what i've been looking at.

MotherBoard: MSI NF980-G65 Motherboard - Socket AM3, NForce 980a SLI, ATX, RAID, SATA, Gbit LAN, Hybrid SLI, 3-Way SLI
    Link:

Videocard: EVGA 01G-P3-1373-AR GeForce GTX 460 SuperClocked Video Card - 1024MB GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.0, Dual DVI, Mini HDMI, SLI, DirectX 11, Fermi w/Limited Lifetime Warranty with Registration
    Link:

    RAM: Kingston HyperX 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model KHX1600C9D3K3/6GX
    Link:

    CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX
    Link:

    Power Source: Ultra LSP550 550-Watt Power Supply - ATX, SATA-Ready, SLI-Ready, 135mm Fan, Lifetime Warranty w/ Registration

Ok so that's what i've been looking at keep in mind though I already have a disc drive, hard drive, and a tower. I want this computer to play most modern game's like COD BO, Starcraft 2, Crysis 2, and etc.... So yea tell me what you think and if you know even better parts for a lower price please tell me.

What was the overall cost of the items listed? What would your maximum budget be? I am just asking for the benefit of those who truly will have the best suggestions for you.

Everything i've listed is $635.00 that's without shipping which is pretty price for me now that I think about. I'm not sure how much my budget is but what i've so far it's seeming to seem like I might be broke by the end of this.

We have a few members who will be able to advise you on value or Bang for your Buck. Not everyone is from the States so give it to the morning.

You need to consider things like the MOBO having 3 way SLI - while its good for future proofing, you do pay a considerable amount more

I can post you a spec later, the other thing you need to consider is the size of the screen you have or plan on using, a 460 would be overkill for anything less than the 22-24 mark
6GB again is overkill 4GB is more than enough (and on that note do you have/plan on having a 64bit OS?) as the most a 32bit OS will recognise is 3.75GB

Oh ok well my monitor isn't at the 22-24 mark so if you know a better video card for me to use that would be very nice. Ok here's the new RAM I just picked out LINK. Also i'm going to be purchasing windows 7 so that solves the 64 bit problem.

Not really :) There are both 64 bit and 32 bit versions of Windows7. Most new computers seem to be coming with the 64 bit pre installed but this is your build. Mine came with 32 bit installed and I am pleased with that.

Ok, then maybe consider the XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB (£105)

Regarding the MOBO,CPU and RAM the new Intel Sandy Bridge is launched in Jan, so If I were you I would hang fire for that :) before rushing into something

I was just reading up on Sandy Bridge and what occurred to me is that, if nothing else, it should revolutionize the laptop otebook segment which relies heavily on integrated graphics in order to keep down the size and weight. Good thing that I have a fairly new laptop and wont "need" a new one for a while since I expect that the first ones with Sandy Bridge will be expensive. But I want one already! :(

I'm not a big fan of intel but I also was looking at that and AMD is going to introducing some new things as well but there both going to be very expensive so I think i'll buy parts that can run future games pretty good that's available right now

All looks good to me, have you looked at the Motherboard compatibility list and checked that the MOBO supports the CPU 'out of the box' because I know that there have been some issues with the newer AMD chips :)

The Sandybridge is coming in budget as well as high performance chips
