Hum, going right back to the beginning, you moved everything over to a new case, and right now everything software wise seems to have been covered so we are probably looking at hardware faults now.
I know this may be a pain but we need now to have the motherboard out of the case and sat safely on an insulating base, cardboard or even a wood table top, then all connections replaced to it.
Power up and see if sound system now works, if so there may just be an unused mounting pillar was shorting some part of the motherboard to the case. I have heard of a lost screw getting under the board and shorting something out. Surprisingly, once the short was removed things worked again.
If still no sound at this point, I would possibly be looking for some kind of physical damage to the motherboard, especially cracks in the circuit tracks. If there are signs of damage, for real safety, a new motherboard would be the best option, though it could all go back in the case and a separate sound card plugged into a PCI or PCIE socket.

Eh, seems like a hassle.. I'll probably end up buying a new (cheap) sound card just for the sake of having audio. Thank you. :)

I think the only thing we haven't tried is re-installing windows, other than that I'm now at a loss
