Only four more days of 2013 left so has anyone made any resolutions? What are you going to attempt?
    Stop smoking?
Learn a bit more of something new?
Lose some or even gain some weight?
Be less bad tempered and try to be a bit more laid back when things go wrong? (Might try for that myself!)

Anything else you wish to do?
Or have you nothing to try for, or just not bothered?

    Nev.

Hey Nev, Now that you've put both Tony and I on the spot, I'll ask you.
What New Years resolutions have you made, if any? :what:

How about we each bring in 50 new members this year to this forum?

Well, considering you have put me in the spotlight Cindy, I will tell you that the first thing to do now I have been retired for six months, is to get off the backside and start doing some serious work on this pile of bricks I live in, it needs some serious renovation. (After I have had me afternoon nap that is  )

Good point Bob, it never hurts to say a thank you, and sometimes I wish folks would at least come back and say it after you have helped them. I know a lot do, but there are the odd few who don't.

And as for bringing new members in, 'tis something I always try for whenever the opportunity arises.

I would like to try banking on my computer, but I like to `download ` items.
My daughter uses hers for banking and ebay.
The `experts` on here must remember that `some of the members` know practically nothing about
computing. I myself have had only two hours tuition, way back in 2007 !
I would like to thank all the moderators and staff for their `input` in 2013.
Wish you all good health in 2014 !

Well I was one of the last converts to online banking and I am a working tech in the industry. It wasn't I was afraid to because I know an encrypted site is safer than a portable telephone
but I just didn't want to for some reason. Running a business I used to buy a roll of stamps every 2 months. Now I buy a book of 20 once a year. Get it?
Now I know sooner or later they will charge us and some online merchants already are but I was buying stamps anyway and this is safer and faster to do.
Go for it manofkent. you will never look back!

Internet bank dealing is reasonably safe as Rich said it is a lot safer than using a mobile phone. However a lot of folks have a separate account just for internet use and maintain a reasonable level of cash in it, that way if things go seriously wrong they don't lose everything.

I've been using online banking for close to five years. The account is completely insured against
identity theft, hacking etc. I don't write more than two or three checks a year and love not having
to purchase stamps. It's much quicker than sitting down with a pile of bills and writing out checks
and stamping envelopes. All of my bills are set up as E bills and come directly to my banking site.
I view them online, pay them and file them. I know exactly where they are if I need to question
something. It doesn't get any easier than that....

    In 2014 I resolve to...

    1) Set up a new work station/area.

    2) Start writing a new book.

    3) Refrain from being grumpy with Australian computer technicians...Lol

    4) Build a new computer for myself.

    5) Be kind to small children, animals,....er.. and Australian computer technicians!

One last resolution for 2014 is to not only continue to use on line banking, but to also endeavour to make sure that the numbers I see in the right hand column are both large, and not of the negative variety!
