New Updates Failures

Hi Bob.When you click on All programs, you have to scroll through the programs to find Accessories.
If your Icons are larger than Allhearts then you will have to scroll more.

I think it is a good idea for you to simply post where things stand at this moment without anything else. Frankly, I saw your post with the gallery entries and thought it was about another thread that you had going. Otherwise lets close this thread and start another which deals simply with one issue.

Bob I lost track of the problem since June of last year. Briefly what is happening this is the 53d post.

 

Hi Bob, I had problems with windows updates as well. I posted this on another thread, but, there was a problem with this thread and Barry deleted it. I read something on another thread and online that other people were having problems with Win 7 and updates. I couldn't resolve my issue with it, so I had to reformat my hard drive. I wish you the best of luck and hope you get it sorted.

 

Hi Bob. It is unfair to expect us to read back 51 posts.
You should have come back much sooner so we can get closure on this thread.

Without reading back I suggest you create a new user account with Admin privileges in case the account is corrupted because without permissions you cant get Windows updates.

Try dropping your UAC to zero and see if that helps.This allows you to make changes without permissions.
Type UAC in the search box and drop the slider to the bottom.You will have to reboot to take effect.

It's probably been mentioned earlier that you need Active X installed to get Windows updates.

Then if you can't manually download the updates even in safe mode then it's time for a reinstall.

 

Sorry I always seem to be saying that.

One thing IF I have to do a reinstall does that mean I lose everything.

Hi Bob. Try the advice first.
Only as a last resort a startup repair may be necessary providing you have the Windows 7 Disc.
Cross those bridges when we come to them.

No I am not caught up in the Flooding as I live on high ground.
First it's fires and now floods.
2013 not starting out well.

this is the message I am getting and have been getting for months

 

What is the update that won't install? Bob.
It's only one update.
Hide the update so it doesn't annoy you all the time.
This is only one update. I thought you had dozens that wouldn't install.
I occasionally get an update that won't install.
It's not the end of the world.
