Well Emma it sort of depends on what you paid for it and how you intend to use it. I read the following review and was concerned about the single core celeron processor. Advent Roma 1000 Full Review, Laptop Reviews on CNET UK

Still there is no reason why it should not serve you well if your use is limited to the "normal" kind of stuff. I would not suggest trying it for high performance gaming for example.

Windows 7 seems to be less of a resource hog than Vista so that is a plus for you.

Vista is less of a resource hog than Vista as Barry has said, but there are specific hardware requirements for WIndows 7 mainly pointing at the GPU

    Confused???

I thought that if your GPU wasn't up to running the windows 7/Vista Aero theme's the OS would just disable them?

as when I re-install all works fine apart from the Aero theme's until I install my Graphics card drivers.

lol - Right Vista is capable of DX10 and Windows 7 is capable of DX11, Windows 7 requirements in terms of GPUs is far more limited than Vista if that makes sense.

They do disable the aero, but that wont be the issues you will have the main issues are the supported GPUs
