Sorry about that... You posted while I was typing...

With regard to the stand offs it's worth noting that different motherboards will have varying numbers of stand offs in different positions.
Just as DTSM has pointed out, they must be in the correct position, but you may also find that you have some left over. Don't think you
have to use them all..... The stand offs usually come with the case, with the better quality cases often supplying more than you need.

    Thanks Frank for chiming in.
Did you use heatsink paste and if so how much?
Did the processor plop into place on the Motherboard, or did you have to apply pressure?

I did not use any paste since there was already some on it from manufacturer. And yes processor fit right into place no problem.

That's correct, it does come with pre applied Thermal compound.
You removed the transparent protective shield off the Processor?

Are you saying you did not remove the transparent protective shield off the processor before attaching the heatsink itself.?
    Just trying to clarify.

No I am talking about removing the transparent shield off the processor itself.
I also think by tightening your motherboard without any stand offs would have distorted your motherboard and possibly cracked the tracking.
My advice is to take the hardware components to a Computer Shop and have each one tested for possible damage.

I have to agree with Dougie that you should take the system to a shop and have them test everything. We have no idea how may times you powered it on and or how long you had it powered on with out the stand off on. You could have shorted out something on the board or one of the connected devices.

Wise decision. I would let them assemble as well. It will be guaranteed to work, and save you further headaches.:)
