so i just recently bought a lot of parts from newegg for my first build, it looks like this:

My problem is that the computer won't boot up. It turns on and looks like everything's working completely fine. All of the fans turn on, and when i have my graphics card plugged in it seems like it's working fine too, but the monitor still says "entering power save mode". I've tried switching monitors and inputs but it still won't work
At first i thought it was that the motherboard had an integrated graphics card and that it was trying to read both at the same time, so i unplugged the one i bought, but it still wouldn't work. Right now i have absolutely no idea what's wrong and it's late so i can't call support to see what's wrong.

    Windows 7
    Computer Brand or Motherboard:
ASUS - are there any others worth buying?
    CPU:
Q6600 at 4.0Ghz per core (Watercooled)
    Memory:
    OCZ PC8500 4x1GB sticks
    Hard Drive:
    Samsung - all the way
    Graphics Card:
    XFX 260GTX rev 1
    Power Supply:
    Seasonic 600Watt
Check the basics, are all the cables connected and tight?
are the case pins the correct orientation on the MOBO (where the power LED, reset etc go)
are you using any 'daisy chain' cables that go to the HDD?
RAM connected as dual channel? both sticks in either blue or white.

Make sure that the GPU is in the PCI-E slot CLOSEST to the CPU (this is the 'fisrt' channel)

It will be something simple, check that you try both of the GPU outputs on the back of the GPU (it's hard to see which is output 1 or 2 without looking at the card)
