If one mounted a PSU and Motherboard on 5mil pvc would the PSU and Motherboard need to have an earth wire between them? Thinking may get a PSU hum without one.I know there are grounds from the PSU to Mobo.
    Your thoughts.
    Thanks.:)

Electrically, the board should run fine with just the wires from the PSU. Those wires contain the voltages and the return lines.
For safety, there should be a wire connecting all chassis to the 3rd prong on the AC outlet. This is the earth ground.

Right and those plugs are all grounded plugs from the psu to the AC outlet.

Thanks for the replies. That puts my mind at rest. I was worried I might get a 60hz hum.

The metal case of the PSU will be connected internally to the mains earth wire, normally also in turn the PSU being screwed to a metal case, that automatically provides an earth grounding connection to the case as well, therefore making the whole case a screen to keep out external mains hum. If you are mounting the motherboard into an all plastic enclosure, mains hum might get into the audio and it might not, so it may be a matter of try it and see.
If there is a problem of hum, it may mean having to first fix a metal plate into the enclosure then use the normal motherboard stand offs to mount the motherboard onto the metal plate. Then making sure there is an earth connection to the metal plate.
Let us know how you get on Dougie as there are other ways, including sticking aluminium cooking foil on the inside surfaces of the enclosure.

I run an earth wire from the PSU to the motherboard. That should fix any problems.
Rather do it now than later.
