since the beginning of the year i've been having problems with my computer either crashing with one of few different bsod or just freezing with movable cursor but nothing else working. i've tried scans multiple different searches of things to attempt. updating drivers rolling back drivers i cant get anything to work.

i have an HP pavilion p6310y everything is factory hardware except a graphics card which was bought the same week the computer with a geforce gts 450 the computer is about 2 years old. the only other previous problem was a black screen of death which after a few fix attempts a clean install fixed.

i've now tried sfc i'm about to attempt a virus scan in safe mode

one last thing i can think of would be the a couple of the error messages would say stuff about trying turning off caching or shadowing.

i'm not sure if it matters any to diagnostics but the games i was playing at time of crashes were LoL (league of legends) pockie pirates (browser based) WoW(obvious i think llol : (_ ) if any 2 were up it would be one and pirates. but the computer has ran fine in past doing more.

    Hi Xlee420
You have posted your issue elsewhere on the net and had a number of replies.
Please post what advice you have been given and what you have tried from the advice already given so we don't give you the same advice.

    Run these Diagnostic tests please.

Run Scandisk to check on the hard drive. Click "Start," then "Computer" (or "My Computer"). Right-click on your hard drive (usually "C:") and select "Properties." Go to the "Tools" tab and click "Check Now." Check the boxes labeled "Automatically Fix File Errors" and "Scan for and Attempt Recovery of Bad Sectors" and then select "Start."

Run the DirectX diagnostic tool to check for video card problems. Click "Start" and then type "dxdiag" in the search bar. Press "Enter" to run the program. You can look through the tabs such as "System," "Display," "Sounds" and "Input." at the bottom of each page will be a "Notes" section. If the tool finds any problems, they will be listed there.

In addition to DSTMs' advice could you attach the minidump files (C:/Windows/Minidump/), they usually indicate a process/driver that has caused the BSOD/shutdown.
