    Don't ever do that.

PS. Bad thunderstorms where Rusty lives. He had to shut his PC down for the moment.
I was just speaking with Rusty.

No problem, I think my problem is with the motherboard or maybe the power supply. Im thinking about replace or buying a new motherboard.

There are more checks to do yet before buying a new Motherboard. You would need a new CPU as well if you went AM3
At this point I think maybe a riser could be shorting out the Motherboard. The CPU is most likely to have bent pins by now.
Only a magnifying glass and looking at the pin rows carefully would eliminate this possibility.
Also the system won't boot if the heatsink power cable is not hooked up to the socket on the motherboard marked (CPU)
Did you have to really press down hard to clip in the heatsink?
Did you remove the tranparent seal from cpu? Many forget to do this.
You can take your Power supply to any computer shop and the will check for you prob at no cost.

I took the cpu out and looked at the pins they looked straight and I reinstalled it earlier.

You cannot tell unless you use a magnifying glass and inspect each row carefully in both directions.
You need to be very careful straighening any that are bent.
The CPU should just plop in without any pressure whatsoever.
If it doesn't then you need to find out why.
By now if you have paste on the sides of the CPU or motherboard you need to clean all off gently with nail polish remover or acetone and apply fresh paste in the centre about the size of a small pea.

Im pretty sure my issue is that the motherboard bios doesn't reconize my processor. I think my options are buy a older processor that the motherboard reconizes or buy a newer motherboard.
