OK so I've decided (from encouragement from other people) that I might build a custom PC. Now I need this system to be built for graphic intensive games and standard educational games. It also needs to be capable of handling multimedia and video editing/rendering by some degree. I hope to make some money selling these PC's because I would enjoy making this as this is experience.

    Current components:
Intel Quad Core i7-920 2.66GHz LGA 1366 CPU
    MSI X58M Motherboard
Black Internal SATA Sony 48X CD/DVD ROM
    WD10EADS 1TB 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" HDD - 1 terrabyte (1000gigs) HDD space
    Sapphire Radeon HD4870 X2 - 2gigs dedicated graphics
    Gateway 23" FHX2300 Flat Widescreen PC Monitor 1080p - 1920x1080 Resolution
    Windows7 Ultimate

    Misc parts:
Logitech 920-000379 G15 Gaming Keyboard w/ LCD Display
    Gaming usb mouse

    TOTAL: $499.95

So how powerful is this build? Are all components compatible with eachother? Am I getting a good price for this?
Your feedback will be greatly appreciated!

    Computer Brand or Motherboard:
ASUS - are there any others worth buying?
    CPU:
Q6600 at 4.0Ghz per core (Watercooled)
    Memory:
    OCZ PC8500 4x1GB sticks
    Hard Drive:
    Samsung - all the way
    Graphics Card:
    XFX 260GTX rev 1
    Power Supply:
    Seasonic 600Watt

I'm confused, have you been quoted this price or are you looking to sell them at this price, the MOBO alone in the UK is £150ish

If you are looking to create/sell a full system, it's first worth noting that not all parts are specified here, such as RAM.

Not really sure what you hope to achieve if you are going to buy this, assemble it then try to sell it on as a full rig.

If you are looking to make some money as well as building experience, why not take "orders" from people, that want a pc and specify the parts, then you can build it for them etc, and make some money without the possibility of spending all this money, putting it together and then possibly being stuck with it if nobody wants to buy it :S

Still unsure if that's what you intend to do or not though.
