Downloaded Free version of Sothink Movie DVD Maker. Tried making a movie that would play in DVD player using You Tube mp4 video files of say 3-20 minutes. I made one 3 minute Movie and it played on PC and DVD player. Tried 11 videos. It played 11 on PC but with loud , jumpy, and distorted sound. DVD player only showed 4 movies on the disc or else I did not know how to show the rest. The 4 that did show played on player but with very loud sound but usable. Capacity of disc SHOULD hold all the 80 videos I have but program doesnt seem to make more that 4 the player sees. If try to make lots of videos the PC shuts itself down after a short while, say 20 minutes-didnt time it. I really know almost nothing about this and have decided that DVD movies are not practical if use a whole DVD and only get 4 of them on a disc. A waste. But that is no reason it should not work if i wanted to have 5 minute movie on a DVD, Or mnay more. Maybe the free version just isnt capable of any but the barest minimum function. I wrote the company Friday but no response yet. Even tough it looks like I cannot make but a few movies on a whole disc, i think the ones I made should perform better. But then I dont know what to expect. DOnt expect help here. Just wanted to say my experience. ODnt believe I would pay for this program based on what I found though.

Actually the DVD player DOES play all 11 and the sound is better than on PC. I just wasnt trying correct method to move beyond the 1st 4 pictures. Acuually I expected to get more than 11 on the disc for all videos are only 2 GB in size while disc is 4.3 GB. Maybe I will try it some more in case I am doing something wrong. They are like instructional lesson videos so dont really have to be indexed. If I could get 11 0r 12 on the disc and maybe learn how to do more I will be happy. And I will post a retraction and give a positive opinion. What it does do is really not all that bad. I will some more time at it. Give it a fair chance. Both PCs have Windows Movie Maker so may try that too.

It could be I am misunderstanding and it could be a PAID professional version with a free TRIAL. I would like to get it to work though. I am trying again. Anyone else had any experience with it or know af a good free DVD movie maker that makes a dvd movie of mp4 video clips of short duration say 5-30 minutes each?

Tried this again and it worked well ONCE. Then I could not add files, Windows Live Mail would not send, could not close program except with task manager then could not remove it from machine. And thge company tech support wrote it was old version and it CANNOT WRITE TO BLANK DVD. Then why is it called a "MOVIE DVD MAKER" and why does it work well ONCE then mess up PC. Had to restore. Now all works. Removed it from all machines plus the download setup files. Done with it.

Not sure now about program being at fault. Tried it again on XP computer and it went all the way through 17 videos but when started to write it did only 2 bars and crashed. Had to power it off to stop it. Then restarted and I believe this dvd disc is old and bad, and even when new I had marked them as Unreliable for every so many I would come to one that would not work. 100 DVD spindle on sale at office max 7-8 years ago and quit using for failed unpredictably, yet some were successful. So I do not want to be quick to judge.
I tried another program called DVD Flick and did 17 videos successfully today on the XP machine. I like it better for it has more features. Bad thing about discs is I have no way to evaluate them before use them and try them to see if fail or succeed. I plan to use DVD FLICK to finish this project. When burning my own videos I have more chances to redo than recording a movie off TV and spindle discs are cheap.

Finally succeeded in making 80 movie DVD videos from mp4 files with DVD Flick. Has more features than other program which was discontinued by company anyway & was only a free verion to sell their pro version.
