So when I use the DVI to VGA conncector I get a "Power saving mode" message on my monitor.

If I use the onboard graphics then everything works fine but I can't do anything on that because... well its onboard.
My Power Supply is a bit low but I nothing else is attached to my PC. I have ahttp://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681....

People over at tomshardware advised me to buy this card. I have a Inspiron 531s so the power supply is low. I really want to fix this as I want to get back to playing games.

The last time I had this problem I did 2 things.

1)I cleaned everything inside (so the two fans)
2)Let it cool down and in both cases, they both worked the next morning (once) and the other time it worked in 15 mins.
I've cleaned both fans this time and have left it for over 20 hours but still nothing. It really sucks...
I really do not know what to do and I want to get this fixed.

H and welcome to Computer Help Forums.
That Graphics card is quite good however a 500watt PSU would be best suited for that card.
2 more gigs of ram would be an advantage also.

I have 3 gigs of ram.
Yes I understand the need for a 500 watt PSU but i has been running for ~9 months w/o any problem. Same thing happened twice but all went back to normal.

I wasn't aware how much ram as off the shelf your comp comes with 2 gig ram.

The 531s comes with a specialized PSU of 250Watts

The Dell 531s takes a TFX12V (version 2.1) form factor power supply.

The HD7750 will eat up so much power I believe your computer will become unstable with all sorts of issues.

Not only to brand name computers supply low wattage psus they are also of the lowest possible quality. In a psu we actually look for brand and not wattage as the standards used to test wattage are so limited as not to reflect accurate conditions anyway so instead we push the quality of the brand. A Seasonic, XFX or Antec HG psu are thought to be the best by most and while they are more money they mostly have 5 year warranties and please bear in mind the psu in your pc when you bought it always degrades so what once wasn't enough, is now most likely harming your other hardware now besides. A 500 watt psu Seasonic will be more than enough for your system.
