Moniter Dark At Highest Brightness

I have a windows vista running on an big old Dell M992 moniter. i have the brightness and contrast at their highest but still, the screen is too dark. The screen is bright enough to go on the internet and type papers or something but too dark for games and stuff like that. I also tried different color settings but didnt find a difference. i reset the moniter, too but still nothing. is there anything i could do to make the screen brighter????

 

My guess is probably not. Most likely the Cathode Ray Tube itself. You may be able to find one on the internet but hardly worth fixing.
