    It doesn't matter what distro you use the difference is the commands you would use in installing the drivers or software. Just thought I would chime in on that part. Good job Tony great explanation.

    A last question: We have established that my Mobile Wifi adapter of the Windows machine only allows 3G. But the dongles provide 4G access. I assume that the USB dongles do not require a Mobile Wifi dapter on my machine (as this adapter is basically in the device itself)?

    Just for clarification: Mobile typically refers to cell tower communications. WiFi typically refers to a home/office wireless network created by a wireless-capable router.

    The USB dongle is a network adapter. You’d be using that because the computer doesn’t have one built in.

    I’m not sure that answers your question.
