Mirroring delays

So I tired mirroring my laptop on to the TV via apple TV with the program air parrot and on to my ipad via air display. The issue I have is that the mirroring or second screen lags really badly. I used to have slow internet but thought that was the issue but even after upgrade it still lags at an unusable lvl.

My current speed is http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/2966914545 around 16mb so is that fast enough or still too slow to support this mirroring/ second monitor use? If it isn't is it possible a router issue? Been using a D-Link dir 601 for 2-3 years but it was used. Thanks
