    Maybe this hasn't been helping your situation.... hard to tell.

    I see you have:
    HughesNetStatusMeter

    installed, is this running ok?
    Report shows there may be some files etc missing.
    If it's not running properly, a uninstall and reinstall should fix this.

    There's only a few orphan entries to clear out, so we may as well do that while we're here.

    Double click on OTL.exe to run it.

    • Return to OTL,
    • right click in the Custom Scans/Fixes window (under the blue bar) and choose Paste.

      .
    • Click the red Run Fix button.

    • OTL will reboot your system once the fix has completed.
    • After the reboot, you may need to double click OTL to launch the program and retrieve the log.

    Copy and paste the contents of the OTL log that comes up after the fix in your next reply.

    HELLO STARBUCK----Little confused as to where I double click on OTL.exe
    where do I find that to click on? (sometimes I don't see every thing I'm lookin at )
    BTW---I removed the Hughes net Status Meter----It was not much good as it did not tell how much has been used in real time :rolleyes: ------They are coming out with a REAL time meter in the future----that would be good.

    Hi gunnner, if you go back to post 15 you will see the original instructions just locate the OTL.exe in the same location as you had before when you accomplished scans and then follow the directions in post 21 from that point on.

    But, you got the message across.

    It simply means to click on the desktop icon for OTL.
    or to right click the icon and select 'Run as Administrator'.

    It really doesn't look as though any problems you were experiencing was directly related to malware.

    Let's get rid of OTL now.
    • Please double-click OTL.exe to run it.
    • You should see a CleanUp! button, press that button,

    • This will remove any programs we have asked you to download along with there associated folders.. plus itself.

    Note:
    MBAM will not be removed

    Now you should set a New Restore Point to prevent possible reinfection from an old one. Some of the malware you may have picked up could have been saved in System Restore. Since System Restore is a protected directory, your tools can not normally access it to delete these bad files which sometimes can reinfect your system. Setting a new restore point AFTER cleaning your system will help prevent this and enable your computer to "roll-back" to a clean working state.

    Click on Start... Control Panel... System and Maintenance... System
    Click on System Protection in the left-hand task list.
    Uncheck the checkboxes next to each hard drive listed under the Create restore points automatically on the selected disks: section.

    When you uncheck a disk you will be presented with a screen.
    You should click on the Turn System Protection Off button.
    Click Apply and then OK.

    Reboot your computer.

    Now:
    Click on Start... Control Panel... System and Maintenance... System
    Click on System Protection in the left-hand task list.
    Put a checkmark in the checkboxes next to each hard drive listed under the Create restore points automatically on the selected disks: section.
    Click Apply and then OK.
