Microsoft Development Studios Stop Updating

I have two development packages loaded onto my PC: Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition and Microsoft Visual C# 2010 Express. I am trying to gain more experience in developing programs with GUI interfaces in both C# and VB.

However, after only a few minutes of using either one of these programs, they stop updating their GUI forms. What I mean is, I can change the code and save the changes and even see the changes as code text on the screen. But, when I run the program, the GUI form does not reflect any of the recent changes.

What would cause something like this to happen? Does anyone have any ideas?
