I assume by going into the Control Panel you went to "manage audio devices"? (Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound/Manage Audio Devices > Recording)
Right click and select Properties on the device and double check that your Microphone level is high enough (under the Levels tab), any microphone I have has to be set to +25db, so might be best setting it to that and see if you get any sound.

Other than checking Microphone isn't muted in your default audio device (like mine is in the screenshot below), since it doesn't work in another computer it might have failed.

You could also check that another known working mic works with your PC, this should isolate whether it is current settings (if the other mic is the same, little sound) or the mic itself (if the other mic works properly).

    Further to Woodyblades sound advice
I would be reinstalling your realtek Drivers.
I have also found installing the latest Graphic drivers has fixed realtek audio problems I have had.

Is the realtek hidden boost activated?
This is a very good video.

Buy or borrow a cheap microphone and see if you have the same problem, that is point one. Here is point 2. You are 14 years old and even though our filters control your language it is not appropriate for this forum. Please don't do it again.

A mic is an electronic device. With such it is never a matter if IF it will fail but WHEN. It could fail the first time it is plugged in or 20 years later or any time between. The point is that ANYTHING electronic WILL fail.

The cost/quality of any such device may increase the odds of an early failure but can't rule it out. Also, cost does not always mean better quality. For what it is worth when it comes to headsets/mics I pretty much only buy Logitech or Microsoft. Actually that goes for mice and keyboards also except with them it is pretty strictly Logitech.

You have already proved the Mic had died when you tried your brothers mic and that worked.

As Jaylach said things fail eventually and can be many causes, has the mic been used in very cold conditions? if so moisture from your breath could have condensed back to water inside it, water in electronics is a death sentence for it.

If it has been in a very cold room, then brought into a warm room, similar condensation can occur.

There are other reasons for failure that can be just one poor component, it might have passed quality control when first manufactured, but has failed since, that sort of thing would be covered by warranty if it is still in the warranty period.

it goes on and on does the list, but it doesn't need to be knocked or dropped, though of course they also can cause failure.

You are yet young, myself at 64, I have had much more expensive stuff just suddenly fail, as you grow up, you will get used to it, believe me.

The title of your thread was Microphone broken? The answer is yes. I see no further purpose to continuing this thread. I had hoped that you would see the need to apologize for your choice of language above but I guess I was wrong.
