Great vid redwing, graceland happens to be one of my most fave albums of all time. I think it is Paul Simon's swan song, a masterpiece. Here is a number by Chris Isaak, hope you all enjoy it. :)

Hi Rich, I thoroughly enjoyed that by Chris Isaak, thanks for posting this! I will be looking for more by him.

The Graceland video is not the best quality. There is something about that song that always makes me feel good, not sure why, but it is very special somehow.

This is superb from a youg girl. The link was posted on another forum. With the following notes.

'Il Silenzio' - Melissa Venema (13 yo)

The conductor of the orchestra is Andre Rieu from Holland .

The young lady, her trumpet and her rendition of TAPS could easily make your hair stand on end.
The young lady named Melissa Venema, age 13, is the trumpet soloist. She is also from Holland .

Here is Taps played in its entirety. The original version of Taps was called Last Post, and was written by Daniel Butterfield in 1801. It was rather lengthy and formal, as you will hear in this clip, so in 1862 it was shortened to 24 notes and re-named Taps.

Melissa Venema is playing it on a trumpet whereby the original was played on a bugle.

Many classical music lovers are under a mistaken impression that Tchaikovsky composed six symphonies. He did in fact compose an unnumbered one titled The Manfred Symphony. I particularly like the very end where the organ joins in. Here is the final movement, approximately 22 minutes.

For anyone who likes a night out now and then, especially if the venue has Karaoke, we will have heard many different renditions of this tune, and no doubt some were diabolical, in fact bad enough to nearly put you off the original.
However, here is a version that is beautiful and although fully instrumental with some vocals, is the best I have ever heard.
Andre Rieu does a splendid job of it. The song was I believe, written by Paul Anka, specially for Frank Sinatra.
