Man Wins $2 Million And Still Qualifies For Food Stamps

    The end of the article states that the man did what he was supposed to and reported his winnings... and was told he could still use his food stamp card.... thus the problem was with the state and not him. I say bull $hit... just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD do it!

    Second thought.. the article says that the state of Michigan is trying to get a waiver that allows liquid assets (which lottery winnings fall under) to be taken into consideration for qualifying for food stamps. Not sure if this is a good solution either... how many people that really could use the help would be disqualified because of liquid assets? In many areas the economy is still shaky at best.. liquid assets may not be so liquid.

    Thoughts?

    In todays world 2 million is chicken feed.BUT
    until he has used it up he should not be allowed to use
    the food stamps that others truly need.
