It's time to retire your Windows 7 computer, Bill.

My computer is a windows 7 and has become mostly unusable. Do not recognize most results when I try to do something and do not understand most of what I see. I am switching back and forth from Firefox to Google when either seems not to work.
I have never experienced this before. I do not want to upgrade or buy another laptop. Do not know just what to do. At least this forum still seems to work.

I am using a Google and a Firefox browser. How can I update to a supported browser on windows 7 if it is possible? I do not wish to purchase a new computer for am too old to do so. I do not understand all the new things my computer never did before. I have a Dell Inspiron 5040 Laptop Windows 7.

You have run out of time using Windows 7. It is not possible to update a supported browser on Windows 7. Chrome (Google is not a browser) is not secure because it stopped being updated over 3 years ago. https://davescomputertips.com/chrome-ending-support-for-windows-7-8-8-1/
    February 2023.

Firefox ESR has a version 115 for Windows 7 but more and more sites no longer recognize the browser. It will stop being updated in September 2026.

    Your options are:
    1. Do nothing - Stick with Windows 7 and be unable to use a lot of sites and risk getting infected
    2. Use your smart phone
    3. Buy an android tablet which works like a smart phone but has a larger screen
    4. Buy a new computer

At my age I do not feel I want to buy another laptop, and at the high price I expect them to be.

    That's definitely your choice Bill.
You'll just be limited in what you can do with an unsupported operating system.

How can I get a browser version that is supported by Windows 7 64 bit? I was using Firefox a long time then went back to Google Chrome an I keep tting messages the browser is no longer supported. I would like to download and install a free browser. At my age I do not wish to start over with a new computer.

What do I do if 3 Threats are found with MWB Scan and quarantined? Usually nothing is ever found. These are named Trojan.MediaArena files.
